First Steps Early Literacy Programming

Our program model offers a holistic approach to early childhood education, emphasizing a blend of diverse activities such as first steps, play and learn groups, and home visits. These activities are intricately woven together by the guidance of trusted advisors and cultural brokers, fostering trust and confidence among families. By building these essential relationships, we help families feel more comfortable within formal education settings, ultimately encouraging preschool enrollment and laying a strong foundation for their children’s early educational success.

First Steps is offered at our Newcomer Center: Monday thru Thursday 9am-7:30pm, open to ALL family members; Our Newcomer Center is a welcoming space for learning, a place for the whole family. We offer a full menu of programs designed to support success in school, both academically and socially, as well as a place to provide ongoing assistance with integration into the new community and navigation of the American school system
