Mentoring
Overview
Youth Mentoring Program provides one-on-one mentoring to refugee students. We pair each refugee student with a mentor to provide meaningful academic support to their student weekly. Mentors work closely with students to strengthen basic skills, develop healthy study habits and explore various college and career pathways. Mentors spend time developing relationships with students and establishing and working towards goals for academic and lifelong success. For both the mentor and mentee, the impact is immeasurable.
Our Students
Our mentoring program focuses on young adults ages 15-24. The refugee families we work with come from all over the globe from places like Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and more. These students are eager to learn English, excel academically, make friends, and find a pathway for their future.
Our Mentors
RDC mentors include teachers, artists, college students, business owners, realtors, and much more. They all want to make a positive impact with our young adults and help them on their journey into adulthood. Mentors begin with an application process, screening, and comprehensive training prior to beginning service. From there, they receive ongoing support throughout the program to ensure success with their mentee.
Help make a difference in the life of a young adult.
